Due to Xbox Live Problems Members can Download a Free Arcade Game

Marc Whitten, General Manager of Xbox Live, published an Open Letter to the Xbox Live users which discusses the ongoing problems that have plagued Microsoft’s Xbox Live. In the letter Whitten says that due to the problems they are having, all Xbox Live members worldwide will be able to download a full Xbox Live Arcade game at no cost.

Whitten says in the letter that the problem is due to the large increase of Xbox Live usage, mainly due to all of the new members that signed up over the holidays. In fact, he says that yesterday there were more users online at the same time than they have had in Xbox Live’s history.

So, if you are one of the many Xbox Live users still having problems, then the only useful information you can gather from this letter is that you will be able to download an arcade game for free. There is no information yet as to what arcade game this offer will include, or an exact date to when the game can be downloaded, but Whitten did say, “In the coming weeks we will be sharing the specific details of this offer with you.”
