Panasonic Announces First Home Theater in a Box System with Blu-ray Player

Panasonic has announced at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that they will be offering a Home Theater in a Box (HTiB) system that has a fully integrated Blu-ray high definition disc player.

This slick looking little system is expected to be in the sub-$500 range for two of the models, and a price for the integrated Blu-ray disc player has yet to be released.  However, either one of these systems would be a great sidekick to that flat panel TV you have been thinking about buying.

National marketing manager of Panasonic Home Audio said that this system “combines the installation ease and user-friendly operation of an HTiB plus the features and performance of high-end audio/video components, including full High Definition 1080p resolution Blu-ray video, wireless rear speakers and 7.1channel or multi-room/multi-source upgradeability.”
