MySpace Launches Developer Platform Site

The popular social networking site, MySpace, has announced today the launch of their MySpace Developer Platform Site, which will be used to give developers a way to integrate into MySpace. Here developers can get together and learn, build and test different MySpace applications.

Developers will get a firsthand look at the new platform tonight when MySpace kicks off this new program. According to the release, this new developer site will inlcude:

  • Three sets of APIs- OpenSocial with MySpace extensions, Action scripts and REST
  • Developer Team Blog- Place to get updates, news and to interact with the MySpace Developer Team
  • Documentation
  • Forum
  • Test harnesses- place for developers to test applications

However, this program is initially being launched for developers only. It will be early March before users will get to experience this new platform, which will be unveiled by MySpace in an Application Gallery. Until then MySpace is going to work with developers in creating new applications, and allow them to interact with the MySpace Developer Team.

More features should surface as this site continues to be developed. More information can be obtained by going to the MySpace Developer Platform site, http://developer.myspace.com.
