Photobucket to Offer New Applications on MySpace

Photobucket has announced that they will soon be offering several new applications on the social networking site, MySpace. They will use MySpace’s new Developer Platform to both build and test the applications before they are released to the MySpace community.

At the MySpace Developer Event, Photobucket was apple to demonstrate that they could easily use the Developer Platform to build, test and deploy its applications. CEO of Photobucket, Alex Welch, said “Photobucket pioneered the way that MySpace users incorporate images into their profiles, blogs and comments,” and that “with the launch of the MySpace Developer Platform, we are excited to have the opportunity to create new ways for users to share and interact with images and videos that are significant to them throughout their digital lives.”

This new developer platform looks like it will be able to deliver some unique applications to the MySpace users from a variety of sources, including Flock, the Social Web Browser, and now Photobucket. I am sure more applications will be announced once developers have had time to build and test them.
