uLocate Releases a New Version of Buddy Beacon Available Across Carriers

uLocate released a new version of Buddy Beacon which will supposedly make it the “world’s most advanced location enabled mobile friend finding service.” Users with Buddy Beacon can pick when to share information with their friends, like where they are and what they are doing.

Buddy Beacon allows users to share this type of information across multiple mobile carriers, not just Helio, and is therefore not confined to the historical mobile friend finding applications that could only be used on a single carrier. However, Buddy Beacon’s features also go beyond mobile devices, as it is also available on leading social networking sites, including Facebook. The Buddy Beacon application on Facebook, which is now in a Beta state, allows users to show their friends where they are and what they are doing, just like they can using mobile devices.

According to the Buddy Beacon website, the carries that allow Buddy Beacon on their mobile phones include Helio (obviously), Alltel, Sprint and metroPCS.  And for you iPhone fanatics, don’t worry, the Buddy Beacon is available for you also.
