Zynga Opens Game Network to Publishers/Developers to Reach Social Gamers

Zynga Game Network has announced today that they will be opening up their network to publishers and developers to help them reach social gamers across social networking sites Facebook, Friendster, Bebo, Meebo and soon MySpace. Some of the partners that have signed up to help put games in the reach of these large social networking communities include Come2Play, Bigpoint and Sierra Online.

Currently Zynga has the largest social game network, with a total user count over 20 million. Founder of Zynga, Mark Pincus, said “By opening our game network and sharing our traffic we will offer large and small game publishers and developers guaranteed access to the vast potential audiences on Facebook and other newly opened social networking platforms, rather than being lost in the directories,” and that “Game publishers and developers, as well as end users, will benefit from networking high quality games together. We’re looking for stellar game developers and publishers to launch their best content for our users. Zynga will focus on promotion and monetization so our partners can focus on doing what they do best – creating great games.”

Some of the games Zynga already offers on Facebook, Bebo, meebo and Friendster include Blackjack, Attack!, Triumph, Scramble, Sea Wars and Texas Hold’em Poker. I am sure more popular games will soon become available now that Zynga has opened up their network to allow third-party game publishers and developers in on the action.
