Twitxr- Like Twitter Except with Pictures

Fon Labs announced yesterday the launch of a new startup, called Twitxr, which is essentially the same as Twitter except with pictures and geolocalization. The concept is simple, you take a picture, type some text about it and then post it on Twitxr for your followers to see and comment.

One of the best parts about Twitxr, in my opinion, is that it is integrated into Twitter. How this works is when you submit to Twitxr, it gets posted as both a “Twitx” (Twitxr) and a “Twit” (Twitter), and provides a link to both. So, you can view the text in Twitter and the image and text in Twitxr. Also, all of this information can be placed on your Facebook page so that your friends can get your Twitxs there.

Twitxr was specifically designed for use with the iPhone, though it can also be used on any computer. However, by using Wi-Fi on the iPhone users can easily take pictures, type up something about it and then submit it to Twitxr. Another feature Twitxr offers is that it will take information directly from your mobile device and show your followers “where” you are doing your Twitxing.

Twitxr is currently in Beta, but feel free to give it a try.

    I’m tongue tied! hehe

    I’ve seen about 200 startups in the past month or so, all with out of this world names, where is all the money coming from??

    At any rate, I can never look at enough pictures, I hope this one catches on. Anyone use it yet?

    @ATV
    I haven’t tried it yet, but once I get some more friends on Twitter (I just joined about a week ago) I might try it out.

    Twitxr only can send photos when I opened my Twitxr account. There’s another similar site http://www.mobicue.com is a multimedia blogging service where can post music, video and so on. It’s more powerful to use it.

    Thanks for the info Janice. I will take a look into it and possibly give it a review here on my blog. If you have any other useful information other than what is posted on their site please let me know.
