Yakkle is an instant collaboration tool that is brought to you by ZenViva, and lets users not only instant message each other, but also allows them to share their desktops, which makes sharing information with your friends a lot easier.
From their site:
You may have used an instant messaging tool like AIM or Yahoo Chat or Google Talk and know that you can send text messages to your family, friends, co-workers and associates. Yakkle does instant messaging too, but it also allows you to use your PC to transmit your voice to your friends and to share your desktop with them all from within a single application. It’s kind of a triple-play. Now you can connect with anyone on the internet, send them a “hi”, speak with them using superb sound quality and show them anything you have on your PC, like photos or documents. You can even let them control your mouse and keyboard from their computer.
Here are a couple of comparison charts that shows how much more Yakkle has to offer over other instant messaging and desktop sharing applications. The only concern I have at the moment is that I don’t’ know if I feel comfortable letting my friends share my desktop! It will be interesting to see how many people find this tool useful.

Nice. I use both IM and desktop sharing pretty frequently, so I just might give this a try!
@Gary
If you do end up giving it a try please post back on how you like it. Thanks
@Gary and let us know how secure it feels. This has huge potential amongst gamers who regularly run third party software to communicate on the go with fellow players.
If it’s secure I may give it a shot too!
Gary and ATV Parts,
Yakkle uses several security techniques to keep your data private. The first is our peer to peer architecture. This means that none of your data is proxied through a central server or super node.
The next and probably the most important technique is that each new session between peers uses a one time unique security certificate key used
to for communication.
For Yakkle General Availability we will be taking encryption one step
further by dynamically redefining the Yakkle protocol for each new session
between peers.

@Zenviva
Thanks for clearing that up. I have had others ask the same question, so I will refer them to this comment.
It is always nice to have the people in charge respond to users’ comments. Makes it a little more personal, in my opinion, which is a perk most users want.
Thanks
Not sure I like the idea of anyone taking control of my desktop. What are the security risks?
