GoFish Partners with WeeWorld: Expands Advertisers’ Reach to Teen Audiences

Today GoFish Corp announced their new partnership with WeeWorld, an avatar based social network, which helps expand their reach on youth-focused media and entertainment network. With this partnership GoFish advertisers will now have access to WeeMee, which is the most widely used avatar. In fact, there have been over 21 million WeeMees created worldwide to date.

From the announcement:

WeeWorld, a trusted site for young adults to uniquely express themselves and communicate with peers, is the fastest-growing avatar-based social network in the United States. Teens and young adults flock to WeeWorld to create their own WeeMee avatar – expressing their personal style and passions through an extensive assortment of personal features, clothes, accessories, hobbies, etc. The social network provides a visually engaging environment for WeeMees to connect with friends, create their own room, send animated messages, participate in forums, play games and more. WeeMees can also be created on AIM, Skype and Windows Live Messenger, and users can take their WeeMees with them to their favorite online hangouts – including all major social networks and blogging sites.

So now the GoFish advertisers, which consist of companies like Activision, Cartoon Network, Disney, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, Verizon Wireless, Build a Bear and others, will now get to run graphical and flash animated ads on WeeWorld. In essence, advertisers will now have access to millions of teens on the web. I guess to ease any concerns of advertising to teens, General manager of WeeWorld Lauren Bigelow, said “Todays teens are bombarded with advertising messages throughout their daily lives, but WeeWorld offers a unique opportunity for teens to select and promote brand messages that speak to their personalities and interests.”

What do you think, should WeeWorld have added advertisers to their site?
