New Social Network for Prescription Drug Consumers

That’s right, there is now even a social network for prescription drug consumers. eDrugSearch.com, which is a search engine allowing users to find medications from international pharmacies at potentially lower prices, has announced the launch of their eDrugSearch.com Community, which is a new social network for people who use prescription drugs.

eDrugSearch.com was created to help level the playing field for consumers trying to find prescription drugs at fair, affordable prices. The do this by allowing users to get prescription drugs online at lower costs from places like Canada and other non-U.S. pharmacies.

Cary Byrd, founder of eDrugSearch.com, said in the press release, “Now, by creating the eDrugSearch.com Community, we are moving beyond specialized search to enable our members to share information about their experiences, both with online prescriptions and online pharmacies. Our Health 2.0 community will empower members to make better decisions for themselves and for their families.”

The eDrugSearch.com Community allows users to:

  • Rate and Review Pharmacies
  • Rate and Review Drugs
  • Track Medications
  • Make Friends and Join Groups
  • Ask the Community Questions
  • Earn Drug Discounts

Sounds like it could help some people save money, but is this is one place I never expected social networks to go.

You’re right, it could definitely help people out, but I was just surprised to see just how widespread social networks are becoming.

I see why it could be beneficial, however with as much spam out there is now with social networks not to include all the drug spam I get in my mailbox every day I hope there will be a good way to control this on that network.

Yeah, hopefully they will be able to control it. Then again, on the internet you can only do so much to stop spam.

eDrugSearch seems like a pretty good resource. If I get a chance I’ll stop by their forum and see if I can be of any assistance with information about generic drugs.
