emPivot- Video Sharing Site for Everything Green

emPivot is a fairly new video sharing site similar to YouTube, except that all of their content is related to anything Green. This is a very unique concept that hits on two very popular trends: video sharing and the environment.

emPivot describes themselves as a “video sharing website and a powerful aggregator of green-related media content for anyone and everyone to access on-line. Our diverse community of users (people, organizations, and companies) can upload video content, connect with each other to share media, and utilize our strong video search engine to find the most relevant green-related video content from emPivot.com and the rest of the web. As a result emPivot.com empowers the world to view green from every possible angle.”

However, whether or not this site will actually make an impact is still yet to be seen. One problem I have noticed is that not a lot of videos are being published, but this could be a result of the site still being fairly new. According to their most recent list the last video was posted 6 days ago, which is in my opinion not frequent enough to compete with other video sharing sites.

Also, their most popular video has only received 3700 views since it was posted 4 months ago, and has not received any ratings. Maybe it is because environmental videos are usually not that entertaining to watch. Anyways, it will be interesting to see if a green video sharing site is really something people want, because right now it doesn’t seem that way.

I like environment news, but I don’t think I would be a big fan of watching environmental video clips.

Honestly, I think this site is a bit to niche oriented. So I think the content update won’t be regular eanough, for a full blown website. Maybe if it was a blog showing the latest videos etc it might do a bit better… but who knows.. We’ll just have to keep an eye on it.

Yeah, I don’t care too much for environmental videos either.

You are right, we will just have to wait and see.
