Mytopia- First to Offer Online Gaming Playable Across Different Social Networks

Mytopia officially announced today the launch of their online social gaming community, which allows users to enjoy classic games with each other across different internet sites and social networks. Some of the games currently featured on Mytopia include Chess, Spades, Sudoku, Video Poker and more.

Right now there are over 200 million people playing casual games online each month, which results in a $2.25 billion a year industry. Mytopia is now taking this industry social by allowing users to play each other over different social networks, including Facebook, MySpace and Bebo. Here are a few things Mytopia has done with their launch:

  • First to end social network segregation in casual gaming
  • Expands online gaming audience
  • Offers first casual gaming MMO for social networks

Here are instructions on how to meet people in Mytopia:

To play games in Mytopia, users log in to the community from their social networks – including Facebook, MySpace and Bebo, or directly through www.mytopia.com. When they arrive in Mytopia, users will find a feature-rich digital playground that includes:

  • Classic Games: Eight games in the Club House (Chess, Backgammon, Sudoku, Dominoes, Bingo), Card Room (Spades, Hearts) and Casino (Video Poker), with new games added monthly;
  • Town Hall: Lets users see who is online and their login locations, read and post to message boards, get help, and view and sort the dynamic Hall of Fame by what matters to them most;
  • Home: Houses friend lists and friends of friends, customizable profile and avatar creation, in-game items inventory, chat histories, messages (instant or offline) and privacy settings; and
  • Shop: Lets users trade their points for virtual goods and real-world prizes, including gift certificates to popular online stores, such as Amazon and iTunes.

With Mytopia you get the advantage of hard-core gaming features on familiar classic games that can be played by anyone. “Now, players can communicate, socialize and compete as seriously or casually as they choose.”
