Free Icons Download is a new startup site that offers a wide variety of icons for Linux, Windows and Mac, all of which are royalty free. These icons are high quality, so don’t think that just because they are free the quality is lacking.
They have plenty of categories to choose from, including animal icons, business icons, application icons, funny icons, web icons system icons, sports icons and plenty more. Also, in addition to icons, Free Icons Download offers free downloads of banner designs, logos and backgrounds.
Here is what they have to say about the use of their images:
“Here you will find the best free icons from the icon artists,The icons copyright belongs original authors, They are free for personal and non commercial use / free for public non-commercial use only mention the authors.”
I stumbled on this site earlier today and thought my readers would like to know about it. I hope you guys enjoy the free images.

Ok, I have to admit I thought the images were going to be crappy (even though you said they weren’t). But in fact the icons and backgrounds look really great.
Sorry for doubting ![]()
@Alan
No problem, I figured some people would think that. Anyways, hope you enjoy them.
Thanks Jonathon. Do you think we can use this in our blogs? Since we put ads to gain some $$, I don’t think we can?
PS: Just noticed that you just changed your Entrecard profile image ![]()

@Michael
That is a good question. It would probably be safe not to use them on your blog if you make money off of it, unless you no for certain otherwise.
Yeah, I got a new logo and took the icon and made me a new Entrecard profile image.
Ah thanks.. it’s so hard nowadays to grab free images for your own blog ![]()

@Michael
Do a search for creative commons images. I am pretty sure those can be used on your blog.
Also, you can try PicApp, which allows you to post copyrighted images to your blog; however, they have a small ad shown.
One more thing you can look at is Photo Dropper, which is a Wordpress plugin that lets you search for images that can be posted to your blog.
Hope this helps you.
I know about PicApp, have registered but haven’t used it yet.
I’ll have a look at PhotoDropper!
Thanks again Jon
