Conduit is a site that lets users create a personalized toolbar for their site that can help build brand loyalty, traffic and revenue. Creating the toolbar can be done in a matter of minutes, and the best part is that it is absolutely free.
Another benefit of Conduit is that it offers subscribers a simple way to “access to the content, communities and applications” that they are interested in. As of right now over “140,000 publishers have joined the Conduit network worldwide, including major brands such as Fox News, Lufthansa, Major League Baseball, Greenpeace, TechCrunch, Softonic and small and medium organizations in 180 countries around the globe.”
Obviously I had to jump on board and create a toolbar for Tech News Source, which can be downloaded using the image at the bottom of this post. However, I thought I would list a few of the features Conduit has to offer in case any of you are interested in creating your own personalized toolbar:
- Use your own logo
- Search box that can be used to search your site, Google, news, weather, or whatever you want
- Site Links- Create a drop down menu that lets you put links to different parts of your site
- RSS Feed
- E-mail notifier- Automatically informs the user when a new message has arrived to any of their webmail or POP3 accounts.
- Pop-up Blocker
Again, these are just a few of the features that can be used when creating your personalized toolbar. If you own a web site then you should definitely think about creating a toolbar, because it gives your subscribers better access to your site’s content.
If you are interested in installing the Tech News Source toolbar all you have to do is click on the image below and it will take you to the download page. If you do install it please let me know how you like it and if you would like anything else added to it.

I think I might wait until my site is a bit larger before doing something like this. My site is only a few months with only a few repeat visitors so I cant imagine my people actually installing mine.

@Ameo
Yeah, it is a nice tool. I will explore it further to add more features to it. The good thing is that you can update the toolbar without having to re-install it.
@Gaming Freak
You are right, it would probably be a good idea to wait until you build your readership up. You might want to consider joining EntreCard and become active in their forums.
@bbrian017
Yeah, I think this would go good with BlogEngage. If you add it please let me know.
This sounds SO cool. I will definitely look into creating a tool bar for Moneybites. Question: have you noticed a change in traffic since the tool bar release?

@Mattaw
I have had a some installations already, but I don’t know if it has really increased my traffic that much. I think once I get more daily visitors and they install the toolbar then I should see more traffic from it.
This sounds like a great way of marketing your site - I might look at this once I’ve explored some other avenues…I mean I still need to sort out a proper logo yet!
Thanks!
